I love nut butter in my desserts! Cashew butter & almond butter find their way into cookies, bread, frosting, and smoothies a lot in my kitchen. I saw a Facebook post from Chocolate Covered Katie linking off to her recipe for Almond Butter Brownies. I decided I had to make them immediately–even if that meant whipping up a batch of homemade almond butter.
Once the almond butter was prepared it took a couple of minutes to throw the recipe together. The only thing special you need to make these luscious, rich, creamy brownies is a food processor. They only take 15 minutes in the oven and an hour later I was enjoying chewy, delicious, incredible Almond Butter Brownies. This is a great recipe if you need something quick or if you have a craving for something chocolate-y that is more on the healthy side.
I followed her recipe & baking time but I did add in:
- 1 Tbsp ground flax seed
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/3 cup butterscotch chips
The cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and butterscotch chips taste wonderful with these brownies! They add a fall-themed depth of flavor that pairs quite well with chocolate brownies. I highly suggest these Almond Butter Brownies!
