Within the last year my Mom gave me a handful of her Sephora samples. I was pretty excited! Face and hair masks, face and eye primers, and some overly scented moisturizers. I love trying things for free; and yet, I always have this nagging worry that they put supercharged products in the samples and sell something half as good for full price…
My favorite sample I tried was the Glam Glow Super Mud Clearing Treatment. I loved it so much that my heart sank when I realized it retails for $69. I didn’t even have the heart to throw it around as a birthday gift suggestion; but as luck would have it, my generous sister bought me a full-sized package just for the heck-of-it!
Let me preface all of my lovely remarks about this product with the knowledge that I have acne-free, mostly trouble-free, combination skin. I would never have tried the full-sized product at that price and I do not usually use a face mask. I am completely satisfied with my Witch Hazel toner to fight t-zone oil and my homemade whipped shea butter moisturizes dry areas beautifully.
Typically I am leary of anything that dries my face out. Biore strips pull little bits off of my nose and it feels extra dry long after the strip is removed. The Super Mud treatment is unique–it applies a very thin, wet consistency (with small bits of eucalyptus leaves floating around) in a dark gray color. Slowly I feel it firming on my face. The color dries to a pale gray and you can visibly see areas where oil has been pulled to the surface. After I rinse it off my face glows! My skin is ultra soft, my complexion is brighter, and my large pores on my nose appear smaller. A day later my pores go back to normal but the softness remains.
I love the results of the treatment and I enjoy using it as well. Other treatments/masks make my face so tight that it is uncomfortable; and I can’t wait to remove them. I really can apply this and carry on with whatever I am doing without any discomfort or inconvenience. My high marks for the sample extend fully to the full-sized product!
