Julep Nail Polish

About six months ago I received 4 Julep nail polishes as a gift. It took me a little while to try them all out (I do not always wear nailpolish; especially during gardening season.) I did however, immediately try out, wear, and love the glittery gold one (Zelda.) That polish is so beautiful and it is different than all of my other gold colored polishes. It is sophisticated, mature metallic.

When I got around to trying the other polishes I was highly impressed. The creme colors (Char–the deep blue & Florence–the nude camel) are super opaque, non-streaky, and they apply so nicely. No gluey, sticky mess and the consistency is just right (even 6 months on); not too thick and not watery or runny. On me they last longer than the average nail polish if used with a good top coat. I was a little surprised at how sheer the baby pink color was (Carol) but it works perfectly as a base for a french manicure or a natural look.

The Julep polishes ring in at a pricey $14. They contain a “4-Free” formula: leaving out formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, and DBP. The creme colored polishes in my mini-collection remind me of creme colored Zoya polishes. They are high quality, long lasting, and opaque. If you want to invest in a polish for a special event or want a super-high quality version of your favorite color, these are great! To be completely honest I want to try almost every color in their “bombshell” collection. Their metallics and glitters are destined to be a step above the rest of the sparkly choices out there. AND if the price strikes you as a little high; check out their sales on their website! There are polishes as low as $2.99 and sets of 2 for $7.99.
