A few weeks ago while perusing Pinterest, I came across a recipe for Lassi; a fruit and yogurt drink. This peaked my interest and there were a ton of Lassi recipes on the web. They vary here & there; so I threw together the most basic version I could. I enjoy any meal that can be made in a blender! The intensity of flavor simply depends on the fruit you choose. Cherry Lassi turned out to be easy and delicious!
- 1/2 lb. fresh fruit, chopped (I used cherries)
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- pinch salt
- 1 cup plain yogurt (I would like to try it with Greek yogurt next)
- 1/2 cup crushed ice (I just threw ice cubes in the blender)
- Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth
It made one LARGE serving or could be shared. I drank it all myself. This drink has a wonderful (real) fruity flavor. It is filling and doesn’t have any bananas in it. I love bananas but between banana ice cream, dried bananas, smoothies, and eating them as snacks I can appreciate a banana-less drink!
