I am gearing up for some new DIY makeup projects. I thought it would be nice to compile footage of TKB Trading Mica Swatches. The shimmery powders have varying pigmentation, sparkle, metallic properties, and tones. I have mainly used the micas in pressed shadow & highlighter but they can be used on the eyes over a good shadow base, used with nail polish, or included in homemade lip balm & soaps. TKB Trading always lists if a mica is eye or lip safe for our convenience.
The micas arrive in resealable plastic bags & sample sizes of most colors will include 6 grams of product. This is a generous amount of mica. I have never been one to press a single color. I like to combine several shades for my eye shadow & highlighter, so I thought it would be nice to see the true tones of my mica collection by doing swatches.
TKB Trading Mica Swatches
Mica powders can be combined into loose shadows or pressed in a pan. The Shimmer Pop & MyMix collections have base powders included in their formula. Mica powders differ from the matte toned true pigments (oxides) that TKB Trading sells. Pigments require extra work and different formulations than mica powders. The Hilite, Interference, and Shimmer Pop shades were swatched over ColourPop’s Creme Gel Colour in Cry Baby & Timber.
TKB Trading is available online, offers international shipping (based on weight,) and has everything you need for creating DIY cosmetics at the absolute best prices. Hopefully these TKB Trading mica swatches from my small collection can help you choose your perfect shades!
